From March 2016 to September 2017, I was involved in a really interesting project. My interest in geriatric psychology was the reason I applied for this role. I was responsible for this pilot project which focused on the impact of Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) on Older Adults with Long-Term Conditions.
This pilot programme involved individual assessments to determine people’s suitability. I then offer individual and group CBT therapies to address people’s anxiety and low mood. We also worked on areas, such as: pain management, sleep management and loneliness.
The project had really good outcomes and all the participants were appreciative of the support their received. Watch the video above to find out more about this pilot programme and its outcomes.
